Dr. John Jenrette is the Executive Vice President of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network. He brings more than 25 years of experience in health care delivery and management that ranges from California to the Midwest.
In his role as Executive Vice President of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, Dr. Jenrette oversees the organization’s network of primary care and specialist physicians. He is a physician leader who is focused on innovative, patient-centric, provider-led delivery models that meet the challenges of today’s changing health care market. His talents include leadership development and strategic planning, academics and teaching, development and implementation of high-level health services, quality, utilization, and population health programs and operations.
Prior to coming to Cedars-Sinai, he led Sharp Healthcare’s $300 million physician organization with over 1,000 physicians and 600 staff members in San Diego, California. During his time there, he was responsible for strategy, leadership, budget, and overall direction for Sharp Community Medical Group Managed Services Organization, where he developed a county-wide network of physicians under multiple payer contracts that maintained a high level of profitability and top decile performance in quality and efficiency.
Dr. Jenrette is a summa cum laude graduate of the Ohio State University School of Medicine. Following a Family Medicine residency at the Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, he completed a Family Medicine Geriatric fellowship at the East Carolina University School of
Medicine. He began his management career as Program Director of the Family Practice Residency for the Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, where he also served on the academic faculty before transitioning to California in 1993.
Dr. Baumhauer serves as Associate Chair of Academic Affairs and Professor, Division of Foot and Ankle Surgery, Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Rochester. In addition to providing clinical care, she holds the position as the Medical Director of the PROMIS for the UR Health Care System and is a Board of Director of Accountable Health Partners, ACO for the Rochester region. She received her BS from Springfield College in Massachusetts, her MS in Biology from Middlebury College, and her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed orthopaedic residency at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont and a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. While working as an Attending at the University of Rochester, she obtained a MPH degree from the University of Rochester Department of Community and Preventive Medicine. Dr. Baumhauer is the past President of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), and Eastern Orthopaedic Association. Dr. Baumhauer currently sits on the Board of Directors of the PROMIS Health Organization. Dr. Baumhauer has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. Her research interest focuses on the clinical translation patient-reported outcomes. Using this skill, she leads the design and implementation of clinical trials to bring new, clinically important orthopaedic products through the FDA into the hands of physicians to improve and advance patient care. Dr. Baumhauer is a Deputy Editor for Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research (CORR) and a reviewer for multiple orthopaedic journals.
Dr. Thomas Lee is Chief Medical Officer of Press Ganey and an internist and cardiologist who practices at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He is a Professor of Medicine, part time, at Harvard Medical School and Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Harvard School of Public Health. Prior to joining Press Ganey, he served as Network President for Partners Healthcare System and CEO for Partners Community HealthCare, Inc., the integrated delivery system founded by Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of Geisinger Health System, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Geisinger Health Plan, Geisinger Quality Options, Inc., and Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Health Leads; the Board of Overseers of Weill Cornell Medical College; the Special Medical Advisory Group (SMAG) of the Veterans Administration; and the Panel of Health Advisors of the Congressional Budget Office. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the New England Journal of Medicine.
He is the author of more than 300 academic articles and four books, Chaos and Organization in Health Care, Eugene Braunwald and the Rise of Modern Medicine, An Epidemic of Empathy in Healthcare, and The Good Doctor.
Named in his honor, the Thomas H. Lee Award for Excellence in Primary Care is given each year to recognize a primary care physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital who meets the needs of his or her patients exceptionally well.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Science from Harvard College, a medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, and a master’s degree in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. He lives in Milton, Massachusetts, with his wife, Dr. Soheyla Gharib, who is Chief of Medicine at Harvard University Health Services. The couple has three daughters.
Ziad Obermeyer is a physician and researcher who works at the intersection of machine learning and health. His research seeks to understand and improve decision-making in public policy and clinical medicine, and drive innovations in health research. His work has been published in Science, The New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, The BMJ, and Health Affairs. He is the recipient of an Early Independence Award from the Office of the Director of the National Institutes of Health, and the Young Investigator Award from the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. His research is supported by the National Institutes of Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the World Bank Group, and the Laura and John Arnold Foundation.
Dr. Obermeyer holds a BA (magna cum laude) from Harvard and an MPhil from Cambridge, where he was a Frank Knox Fellow in the History and Philosophy of Science. He worked as a consultant to pharmaceutical and global health clients at McKinsey & Co. in New Jersey, Geneva, and Tokyo before returning to Harvard for his MD (magna cum laude). While a medical student, he worked as a full-time research scientist at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington, supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He completed his clinical residency in Emergency Medicine at the Brigham & Women’s, Massachusetts General, and Boston Children’s Hospitals.
Thomas M. Priselac is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cedars-Sinai Health System and its flagship organization, Cedars-Sinai. He has served as President and CEO of Cedars-Sinai since 1994 and was also named President and CEO of the Cedars-Sinai Health System when it was formed in 2017.
The Cedars-Sinai Health System includes the nationally recognized Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and its affiliated physician network; major programs in physician and health professions education; the highly regarded Burnes and Allen Medical Research Institute; Torrance Memorial Medical Center and its affiliated physician network, the market leader serving Torrance and the beach cities of Los Angeles; and Cedars-Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital.
An author and invited speaker on policy issues regarding the delivery and financing of health care, Mr. Priselac has served the health care field in various roles during his career at Cedars-Sinai. He is a past Chair of the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees and past Chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges. The holder of the Warschaw/Law Endowed Chair in Healthcare Leadership at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Mr. Priselac also serves as Adjunct Professor at the UCLA School of Public Health.
A native of Pennsylvania, Mr. Priselac obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Washington and Jefferson College in Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in Public Health, Health Services Administration, and Planning, from the University of Pittsburgh.
Ari Robicsek is Chief Medical Analytics Officer at Providence St. Joseph Health. He trained in Medicine at the University of Toronto and in Infectious Diseases at Harvard Medical School. His passion is the use of data science to improve quality of care, efficiency, and consistency. Projects have included predictive modeling to target high-risk patients, marketing analytics (e.g., A/B testing) to improve patient outreach, and the development of data architecture that allows large-scale measurement of health care value (i.e., outcomes and costs) in a manner that resonates with clinicians and allows optimal practices to be pinpointed. Ari’s work has been published in Annals of Internal Medicine, Nature Medicine, and other journals. He has co-chaired Epic’s Research Advisory Council and Data Scientist Forums, and is a Sr. Fellow of the Health Research & Educational Trust. He has mentored University of Chicago fellows in Research Informatics and co-leads a seminar on Analytics for the American College of Healthcare Executives. His team’s work has been key to a number of awards, including placing first in the 2013 Healthcare Informatics Innovator Awards, ranking in the 2014 Information Week Elite 100, and being named to the 2016 CIO Magazine CIO 100. Most recently, he was named one of Health Data Management's 2017 Top 25 Physician IT Leaders.
Scott Weingarten, MD, MPH, is Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Transformation Officer at Cedars-Sinai. He is a Professor of Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Health System and a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Board certified in Internal Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Weingarten has published approximately 100 articles and editorials on health care quality improvement, clinical decision support, and related topics, and has authored numerous chapters on improving the quality of patient care in some of the leading internal medicine textbooks. He has given more than 300 presentations on clinical decision support and related topics throughout the United States and internationally.
Dr. Weingarten has held positions on myriad national committees dedicated to improving patient outcomes, including those of the Institute for Medical Quality, the American Heart Association’s “Get With The Guidelines” program, and the Quality Improvement Committee of the Board of Directors of St. Joseph’s Health System. He is currently a Board of Director for the Scottsdale Institute. At Cedars-Sinai, he has been awarded both the President’s Award and the Golden Apple Teaching Award, and was Alumnus of the Year for 2009.
Dr. Weingarten was the Co-founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Zynx Health, which is the leader for order sets and care plans for electronic health records. Scott sold Zynx Health to the Cerner Corporation and later to the Hearst Corporation. Zynx Health is one of the Hearst Corporation’s larger companies. He is a co-inventor of three software patents granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
After graduating from UCLA’s medical school, Dr. Weingarten completed his internship, residency, and fellowship in internal medicine at Cedars-Sinai. He later participated in a National Center for Health Services Research Fellowship at the RAND/UCLA Center for Health Policy Study. During the fellowship, he also earned a master’s of Public Health degree at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
Dr. Weingarten has also worked as a primary care physician at Kaiser Permanente and was awarded partnership status at Southern California Permanente Medical Group.
Dr. James N. Weinstein is the Senior Vice President, Microsoft Healthcare, Head of Innovation and Health Equity. He is the immediate past Chief Executive Officer and President of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health. Dr. Weinstein is currently a Clinical Professor in the Northwestern Kellogg Business School as well as a senior fellow at the Tuck School of Business. He is Editor-in-Chief of SPINE and author of the book "Unraveled: Prescriptions to Repair a Broken Health Care System". Dr. Weinstein held the Peggy Y. Thomson Chair in the Evaluative Clinical Sciences at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. He co-founded and led the National High Value Health Care Collaborative, including 70 million patients and 70,000 physicians. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and serves on the organization’s Board for Population Health and Public Health Practice.
